In this post I would like to recognize some of my fellow bloggers from the Media Tech class at UW-Platteville.
The first person I would like to talk about is Juliana. One her posts that I particularly liked talked about collaboration. She talked about the benefits of using Google Hangouts instead of Skype or other similar sites. I learned that you can actually record the Hangout sessions and rewatch them as many times as you like. I also learned that while in Google Hangouts the people in the sessions can use other google sites and edit them while discussing them. Here is Juliana’s blog in case you want to read more about it. http://welcometotheresourceroom.blogspot.com/
The second blogger I would like to introduce is Grzegorz. The post that I learned a lot from was the post on flipping the classroom, and the different technology that can improve its effectiveness. One of the technologies mentioned is a google chrome extension called screencastify. It allows you to take video of a screen and then you can record your voice at the same time. The second is a website called Edmodo.com. It is a classroom management platform. You can create quizzes, send alerts, and much more. To learn more visit Grzegorz’s blog https://grzegorzbielakblog.wordpress.com/.
The third and final blogger I would like to recognize is Keri. The blog post that I learned a lot from was Keri’s post on communication and collaboration. The blog mainly focuses on TodaysMeet, which is a conversation board that can be used in the classroom. Teachers can open up a “room” for as long as they would like, then students can join the room. In here teachers can ask questions or can just leave the room open for discussion of the students choosing. For more information visit Keri’s blog http://keritreml.weebly.com/blog .
