The oldest piece of technology that I have encountered lately is an electronic typewriter. This technology has changed drastically. Now we have computers, laptops, tablets, electronic notebooks, and many other tools to type up a paper. Today there is even technology on our phones and computers where we just have to talk and our words will be typed for us. The days of changing those two typewriter tapes are behind us and the digital age has taken over in force. When typewriters were prevalent, typewriting was a sought after skill that not everybody had and was sought after in many businesses. Today it is built into the curriculum at schools so that every student has a certain level of proficiency. Not that they need it, with this technology boom going on it is my belief that some of the younger generations know how to type better than they can write. That includes printing and writing in cursive.
